About

My name is Art and I am currently an NCO in the Air Force.  When I was first asked as a child what I want to be when I grow up, I told my family and their friends that “I want to be a millionaire”.  After growing up – and growing a bit wiser – I realized that even if you have all the money in the world, but no time to enjoy it, you may as well have nothing.  I began focusing more on learning about investments and having money work for me in hopes of retiring early.  A few years later, I enlisted in the Air Force where I am today and plan to retire sometime after I hit 20 years in the military.

Throughout my years in the military, I have taught lower and higher ranked people alike about various financial matters to include stock and investing principles, the TSP (and the difference between the Roth and traditional options), the new Blended Retirement System, various things that have to do with credit cards (to include diving into churning to get free flights), and many other specific questions people have brought to my attention.

The military saver was created after realizing just how little training avenues, experience, and knowledge our troops at all levels have about finances like: general budgeting, saving for retirement, understanding credit cards and loans, and various investment opportunities.  I will be tackling many general and specific financial well-being and retirement questions and including my own personal stories, anecdotes, and travel adventures along the way.

My goal is to reach military members all around the world and set them up for a more successful financial future and have these posts convince you to become a military saver as well!
